LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Los Angeles police need help in identifying the driver suspected of injuring a 64-year-old jogger in Hollywood in a hit-and-run.

The crash happened around 9 a.m. on Jan. 26. Police said the pedestrian was running northbound Western Avenue in the east crosswalk at Virginia Avenue when a red SUV traveling southbound Western Avenue made a left onto Virginia Avenue and struck the jogger.

The SUV continued east on Virginia Avenue without stopping, police said. The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

A video from a nearby surveillance camera showed the SUV is possibly an older model Toyota Highlander, maroon in color, according to police.

The driver was described by a witness as female. She also had a female with dark hair in her front passenger seat, police said.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Officer Yoshioka, LAPD West Traffic Division at (213) 473-0236, or at (213) 473-0234.
