The burglary was reported around 1:05 a.m. in the 15400 block of Milldale Drive, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
An armed guard made the call, reporting three male suspects got away in a black BMW, with no additional details immediately available, police said.
Evidence was recovered at the scene, but again, no additional details were released.
Video from the scene showed what appeared to be $100 bills scattered in the street, along with some high-end purses and handbags.
The owner of the home, identified by NBC4 as finance author Amanda Frances, issued a statement saying the money was fake and had been used in a recent photo shoot.
