The fast food chain, which owns the property Norms is built on, was set to make a case before the Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission asking for permission to turn the historic landmark into a Cane’s franchise. But instead, the chain submitted a letter stating it no longer plans to take over.
“We have heard the community’s concerns, and we are in discussions with Norms about the future of the site,” the letter said.
Norms is facing closure when its lease expires next December. It’s unclear what will happen with the property moving forward.
