The Edgehill Fire in San Bernardino County reached 100% containment on Tuesday after it destroyed five large homes and damaged three more.

Gas crews were also on hand as the 100-acre fire burned to deal with flare offs from broken and melted mains.

San Bernardino County Fire Battalion Chief Jett Schuster told KNX News' Pete Demetriou crews have done the majority of the work overnight.

"Crews working in the area, extinguishing in hotspots and taking advantage of the cool weather and the lack of heat. So we get ahead of the schedule and then we're going to have additional crews come on scene," he said.

All evacuations were lifted at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, according to San Bernardino County Fire. All road closures and restrictions were lifted later Tuesday afternoon.
