LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A fight followed by a shooting prompted the California Highway Patrol to shut down all northbound lanes of the Hollywood (101) Freeway in downtown Los Angeles Saturday afternoon for a crime scene investigation.

The fight was reported to the CHP at 1:35 p.m. Saturday on the northbound side of the freeway at Mission Road, Officer Erik Larsen told City News Service.

An argument broke out between two people followed by a shooting, Larsen said.

One person was taken to a hospital by ambulance, but it was not clear if the patient was wounded by gunfire or injured in the fight, he said. The patient's condition was not known.

The CHP reopened the right lanes of the northbound freeway about 3:30 p.m., but kept the left two lanes closed.
