A small airplane with two people aboard crashed Thursday near Van Nuys Airport, but neither occupant was seriously hurt.
The crash was reported about 7:10 a.m. near the 15300 block of West Burbank Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters were sent to the scene on a report of a "small aircraft, reportedly Cessna, down in field in Sepulveda basin," an LAFD statement said. "Plane is upside down, no fire, and both occupants have exited ... with undetermined injuries."

A later LAFD report indicated the man and woman who got out of the aircraft were examined by first responders, and "neither appear to have life threatening injuries."
Both declined to be transported by paramedics for hospital treatment, "and will be released on scene," the LAFD statement said.
The crash will be investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board, the LAFD reported.
