Power outages scattered across Southern California as wind and rain hit early Monday morning. And SoCal Edison crews are staying proactive.

Kathleen Dunleavy with SoCal Edison told L.A.’s Morning News around 7:20 a.m. that 7,000 people in Orange, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino Counties were without power.

“We are looking and monitoring for those areas that we know can be impacted by mudslides by trees coming down,” she said.

She added that crews were prepositioned in certain areas.

“When there is something that happens, like if a tree comes down and knocks, knocks out a wire…[or] some of our other equipment is affected, then those crews that are already in the area can respond as quickly as possible,” she said.

For more information on outages and how long they’ll take, Dunleavy encourages SoCal Edison customers to go to the website. You can check it out here.
