On Friday morning, Los Angeles leaders provided updates on the continuous fight against the wildfires that continue to devastate Southern California.
In addition to the fire burning in Malibu and Pacific Palisades and the fire burning Altadena, crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to and put out fires in Hollywood, Pacoima, and Studio City.
“When we're on the front lines, when we're in the command posts, when we're in the emergency operations center, we carry with us our friends and neighbors,” Bass said. “That is what this fight is all about. It's about those friends, neighbors and loved ones who have fled their homes, those who have lost their homes, those who have lost their lives. To all Angelenos, we are fighting hard for each of you.”

L.A. County Robert Luna shared that 153,000 residents are under evacuation orders, 166,800 residents are under evacuation warnings, and 57,830 structures are at risk
PALISADES FIRE:
The Palisades Fire has burned 20,438 acres and 8% contained, L.A. City Fire Chief Kristin Crowley said
“Crews worked very, very hard overnight, strengthening our containment lines and addressing multiple fires in and around the Topanga Canyon area,” she said.
Crowley noted that the expected increase of wind gusts on Friday will test containment lines and that evacuation orders remain in place.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The fire started Tuesday at 10:30 AM.
EATON FIRE:
The Eaton Fire in the Altadena/Pasadena area is 3% contained at 13,956 acres, L.A. County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said during a press conference.
“We still have 4,000 to 5000 structures that may be damaged or destroyed,” he said.
Marrone also said a firefighter was injured on Thursday.
“He remains hospitalized,” Marrone said. “He's resting comfortably, and he's in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery.”
Marrone added that the fire at Eaton Canyon did push toward Mt. Wilson, but no buildings were destroyed. He also said mutual aid resources are coming from Canada.
“We are appreciative to our many mutual aid partners from out of state for providing assistance to Los Angeles County in our time of need,” he said.
Marrone ended his update on the Eaton Fire by saying that the priority will be preparing for the Red Flag event, which is expected to start on Monday.
The fire started on Tuesday near Altadena Dr. and Midwick Dr at 6:18 p.m. according to CalFire.
KENNETH FIRE
The Kenneth Fire that erupted on Thursday in the West Hills area has been stopped, Maronne said, crediting the “quick action of first responders and aerial assets.”
“It's currently at 1000 acres,” he said. “We have 35% containment and no structures are reported damaged or destroyed.”
Crowley added that all evacuation orders and warnings within the city of L.A. have been lifted.
LAPD Assistant Chief Dominic Choi said the arson suspect who was taken into custody in connection to the fire was arrested on a felony probation violation, but that investigators “made the determination that there was not enough probable cause to arrest this person on arson or suspicion of arson.”
HURST FIRE
The Hurst Fire has burned 771 acres with 37% containment, according to Crowley.
“All evacuation orders and warnings have been lifted,” she said.
That fire started on Tuesday just before 10:30 PM in Sylmar.
CURFEWS
Sheriff Luna said curfews established for the Pacific Palisades and Eaton fire areas will take effect again at 6 p.m.
“This curfew will be strictly enforced and is being taken to enhance public safety, protect property, and prevent any burglaries or looting in the area that the residents have evacuated,” he said.
He also issued a warning to those who try to defy curfew orders: “We are not screwing around with this.”
Those who violate the curfew may receive a fine of up to $1,000 or jail time.
