Some flights around the country have been canceled because of the deadly crash between an American Airlines jet and an Army helicopter in Washington D.C. on Wednesday night.
KNX News’ Jon Baird reported at 6:30 a.m. that three American Airlines flights in and out of LAX were canceled and four have been delayed. He also reported other airlines had been impacted because they were flying into Regan National Airport, which closed after the crash.
Baird spoke with one man whose 7:56 a.m. American Airlines flight to D.C. had not been canceled.
“My thoughts and heart go out to the families,” he said. “ I feel bad for them and you know, just tragic here, and I'll probably learn more about this once we sit up in the Admiral's Club.”
He added that he’s not scared of taking the flight.
“I mean, I'm always apprehensive when it comes to flights, but no,” he said. “I can't waste my time being scared.”
A woman told Baird that you have to keep living.
“You got to keep doing your job and you just hope that whatever happened, whatever mistake happened, that they certainly rectify it and learn from that mistake,” she said.
Another woman who was taking an American Airlines to Dallas said she was trying not to think about the crash.

“I feel like it's all the risk,” she said. “It's just as dangerous as driving on the street.”
Officials with Reagan National Airport announced the airport would continue flight operations at 11 a.m. on Thursday
“Some flights have been delayed or canceled, so passengers are encouraged to check with their airline for specific flight information,” a post on the airport’s X account read.
Officials said in a press conference Thursday morning that all the 60 passengers and four crew members on board were feared dead and that at least 28 bodies were pulled from the Potomac River.
