A stabbing on the campus of a South L.A. career preparatory high school sent one student to the hospital Tuesday.
At 12:45 PM, The Los Angeles School Police Department received a report of a stabbing at the Joseph Pomeroy Widney Career Preparatory and Transition Center.

Officials said the student was transported to a hospital and the suspect, who was later identified as a classmate, is in custody. LASPD said no other injuries were reported.
The parents of the involved students have been notified.
It was unclear what prompted the stabbing.
