PALMDALE, Calif. (KNX) — A man was killed by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Sunday night after authorities said he rammed two patrol vehicles in Palmdale.

Deputies were initially called at 6:05 p.m. to respond to the 6900 block of Jack Rabbit Way, where they were conducting a follow-up on a domestic violence call from earlier in the evening, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner.

While at the location, deputies tried to contact a man seated inside a vehicle, Koerner said.

The suspect attempted to flee the location and allegedly rammed two patrol vehicles several times. After ramming one of the deputy’s vehicles, a deputy-involved shooting occurred, according to Koerner.

The deputies immediately began to render aid to the suspect until paramedics arrived, but ultimately, the suspect died at the scene, Koerner said.

It was later determined the suspect was not involved in the early domestic violence call, she added.
