The woman was struck around 3:20 a.m. June 22 as she was crossing North Western Avenue at Rosewood Avenues inside a marked crosswalk. She was hit by a late-model white pickup truck, believed to be a Chevrolet or Ford, traveling south on Western, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics took the woman to a hospital, where she later died. The woman's identity was being withheld by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner pending notification of relatives.

``Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency service, and remain at the scene to identify themselves," police said in a statement.

The city is offering an award of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identity, arrest, and conviction of the suspect.

Anyone with information regarding the fatal hit-and-run was urged to contact LAPD West Traffic detectives at 213-473-0234. Calls during non-business hours or weekends should be directed to 877-527-3247. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org.
