Have you taken down your Christmas tree yet? If not, KNX News spoke with a couple of experts about how to properly dispose of your tree.
Pablo Serrano with L.A. Sanitation said if the tree is short enough, you can cut it in half and put it in the recycling bin.

“If the trees are oversized and they do not fit, you are more than welcome to use the My 311 app, schedule a bulky item pickup, and we'll gladly come by and pick it up for you,” he said.
Serrano said if you do decide to use the app, it’s important to remember they have about a two-foot acceptance for sticking out of the bin.
For those who don’t want to hire help, there is a company that will do it. Charlie English, the owner of California Christmas Tree Recycling, spoke with KNX News about the services they provide.
“[We] pick them up curbside for a discounted rate, or for the full service, we come into the house, we lay down a tarp, drain the tree stand with a wet vac, take off any branches, and then we can take the stand off,” he said.
He said prices for smaller trees start at $25.
