People just got used to having Topanga Canyon Blvd. open again after months of closures because of landslides.

Now, residents have to deal with new construction until at least Friday.

About a mile of the southbound road, starting at Ventura Blvd., will be down to one lane. Seven intersections are undergoing curb ramp construction to make it easier for people with disabilities to cross streets.

“It's definitely not the most ideal situation, but it is what it is,” Sydney Ferris, at Ubatuba Acai bowl dessert shop, told KNX News’ Pete Dmeetriou.

She explained that the construction has had some impact on parking in front of the store.

“People are having a bit of a hard time driving around it, but, and trying to walk around, trying to get into the store,” Ferris said. “Other than that, it's like, I deal with it.”

One resident, Aaron, said the lane restriction is just a minor inconvenience.

CalTrans said it’ll be slow going southbound from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the remainder of the week. Also, there will be some lane restrictions along the northbound side of Topanga Canyon Blvd. over the next few months.
