Passengers flying from O’Hare International Airport in Chicago to Los Angeles International Airport took a surprise trip to Denver, CO, late Monday night due to an unruly passenger.

According to Maddie King of United Airlines media relations, flight 2649 was diverted to Denver “due to a passenger disturbance on board.” Law enforcement officials met the aircraft at the gate and removed the passenger before the flight continued to Los Angeles, she added.

A Twitter user who claims they were on the flight said a “rapper dude” was removed from her plane.

The identity of the passenger has not been confirmed by police.

FlightAware data shows that the plane departed O’Hare at 9 p.m. and touched down at Denver International Airport at 10:44 p.m. It then left Denver at 11:44 p.m. and arrived in Los Angeles at 1:01 a.m. Tuesday.

A spokesperson for Denver International Airport told Audacy that the Denver Police Department did get involved when the plane landed. The department said that they were not aware of any arrests made related to the incident. Audacy also reached out to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for information about the incident and they referred back to the local department.
