With just under 50 days until Election Day, Tuesday marks the nation's "Voter Registration Day," and dozens of USC students took the opportunity to get registered at the university.

Nataly Tavidian spoke with Nicole Pompilio with USC's Dornsife Center for the Political Future, who said they have set up their own voter assistance platform to help students register.

Pompilio said, "A lot of the questions are if they are from Texas or Florida, and they're trying to get a mail-in ballot. They're like, how do I do that?"

Many students say it is their first time voting in a presidential election, and the seriousness of their right to vote is not lost on them.

"I definitely think it's just the rising up as a group of voices that is going to make an impact," said one student.

Another shared that she convinced a friend to register, "It's incredibly important to vote. I had a friend who said he didn't know what he wanted to do, so he wasn't going to, and I said no, it's so important that you vote because every voice is so important."

One young voter emphasized the importance of "Those lower level elections," saying, "[They] can have a real impact and a difference."

The last day to register to vote online in California is October 21.
