A large fire that engulfed a Long Beach apartment building Wednesday evening, prompted a massive response from the fire department and injured three firefighters.

The flames ignited a condominium residence in the 400 block of Bellflower near Pacific Coast Highway.
First responders said the heavy smoke originated from a unit on the third floor but said the flames had grown, extending to the hallway and the fourth floor of the building.
Video recorded by TrivWorks and provided to KNX showed a massive plume of smoke billowing from the top floor of an apartment building.
The Long Beach Fire Department said one person inside the complex had been rescued from their balcony while holding their dog.
One of the firefighters was transported to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
