LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Augmented winter shelters were opened Thursday amid rain and winter weather across Los Angeles County. Partnering with 211 L.A. county, the L.A. Homeless Services Authority is offering transportation assistance and help finding shelter to the homeless community.
“Should you or someone else need shelter, please call 211 and follow the prompts for Emergency Shelter or Augmented Winter Shelters,” the LAHSA said in a statement.
Winter shelters offer a bed outside of the cold and hot meals for those who do not have a place to go during the winter months.
“In addition to temporary emergency shelters, each program location provides access to supportive service and housing assistance,” according to the Homeless Services Authority.
