Gary Wright, known for hits like "Dream Weaver," has died at 80

Gary Wright, the recording artist best known for his hits "Dream Weaver" and "Love Is Alive," has died at 80.

Gary's son, Justin Wright, told TMZ his father passed away Monday morning at his home in Palos Verdes Estates, CA.

The founding member of a U.K.-based blues rock band called Spooky Tooth was battling Parkinson's disease and Lewy body dementia.

Wright released his first solo album, "The Dream Weaver" in 1975, which included the songs "Dream Weaver" and "Love Is Alive."
