President-elect Donald Trump says California Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren and the rest of her January 6 committee members “should go to jail.”
Lofgren joined KNX News’ daily political show Countdown 2024 and told us she’s “not intimidated” by the threats.

“I don't know that the incoming president has ever read the constitution,” Lofgren said. “If he did, he would see that article one section six contains the speech or debate clause that really provides that members of Congress House and Senate are immune from – it’s the only immunity provision in their entire constitution – from being questioned about their legislative activity.”
Lofrgen said the January 6 committee discovered evidence of a “wide-ranging plot with Mr. Trump at the center of it” to stop the count of electoral college votes. Even if Trump directs his Department of Justice to investigate the committee, she said they wouldn’t find any reason to bring charges against them.
“We did everything that we were asked to do, we did it as well as we could, and there is no wrongdoing here,” she said.
Lofgren said that none of the Republican House members she’s spoken to take Trump’s threats against the committee seriously, and that “many of them, although they might not say so publicly, think he’s pretty much a joke.”
