Parts of the country are in the middle of a fuel shortage right now after the Colonial Pipeline hack, which created a situation where some drivers are trying to hoard as much gas as possible.

A man in Homosassa, Florida decided to take advantage of a Texaco Food Mart having a steady supply of gasoline by filling up four, 5-gallon containers. He put them in the back on his Hummer, and as soon as he pulled out of the gas station parking lot, his vehicle burst into flames.

According to the New York Post, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in about 20 minutes. One person was injured but refused to be transported to a hospital.

The Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the official cause of the fire.

This comes after a melee in North Carolina between drivers trying desperately to fill up their tanks. They ended up spitting into each other's faces and getting arrested. In New Orleans, a man was discovered dangerously hoarding bags of gasoline in a hotel room.

As the shortages continue, officials have warned people not to store gasoline in plastic bags.

In California, officials have told residents there is plenty of supply and no reason to rush to the pump to "stock up."
