Actor and rapper Ice Cube has dropped out of his upcoming “Oh Hell No” film after declining to get vaccinated against COVID-19, according to reports.

The 52-year-old Crenshaw native signed onto the comedy back in June, and was set to star alongside Jack Black in a film about Black’s character “Sherman” and Cube’s character “Will” — as Sherman falls in love with Will’s mom.

While the rapper has promoted mask-wearing - sources recently told the Hollywood Reporter that Cube walked away from the film's $9 million check after he was told he would have to get vaccinated in order to begin filming in Hawaii this Winter.

All involved with the film, including a personal representative for the star have refused to comment about his exit from the film.

Earlier this year studios and guilds unveiled new COVID protocols to set the framework for vaccination and testing mandates in the entertainment industry. The protocols include the option to require vaccination against COVID-19 in settings where cast and crew are working closely.
