HARTFORD, Conn. (KNX) — Martha Stewart is devastated by the killing of her six peacocks, who were "devoured" by "aggressive" coyotes on her Connecticut property, the TV food icon said on Instagram over the weekend.

"RIP beautiful BlueBoy," Stewart said on Saturday. "The coyotes came in broad daylight and devoured him and five others, including the magnificent White Boy. Any solutions for getting rid of six large and aggressive coyotes who have expensive tastes when it comes to poultry?"

According to the state's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, coyotes are common throughout Connecticut, in a warning to residents that pets should not "run free!"

The 80-year-old seems to be taking the agency's advice, adding in her post that she is "no longer allowing the peafowl out of their yard. We are enclosing the top of their large yard with wire fencing etc."

"And by the way I do not have any idea how the marvin gaye music found it's way," she added. "To this sad post when Blue Boy was alive it would have been perfectly appropriate."
