As former President Donald Trump has continued to rail against the results of the 2020 election that ousted him from the White House, he has also continued to raise money from his supporters on the premise that he would fund recounts and ballot reviews in states that were won by President Joe Biden.
But a new report in the Washington Post says, while Trump has raised over $75 million to fund these initiatives so far in 2021, he hasn’t spent any of it towards that cause.

The Save America leadership PAC must, by law, publicly reveal exactly how it spent its money in the first half of the year by July 31. But if the Post’s sources are accurate, it appears there won’t be many transactions to report.
“We MUST defend the Election from the Left!” reads one of the many emails that were sent to Trump supporters to raise cash.
It seems that’s not what the money has been earmarked for now, as anonymous sources told the post that the former President was “uninterested in personally bankrolling the efforts, relying on other entities and supporters to fund the endeavors.”
According to the Post's sources, Trump has elected to spend some of the money on various legal and travel costs and staff payroll while simply keeping the vast majority of it.
