With the midterms approaching fast, President Donald Trump has been dealing with protestors at his typically MAGA-filled rallies, according to reports. During the latest incident in Kansas this Monday, at least one protestor reportedly hurled an expletive at the president.
“I f**king hate you!” a woman shouted, per a HuffPost report.
According to the Kansas City Star, Trump was at Marshall at Heartland Credit Union Arena in Park City, Kan., a suburb of Wichita, when the protestors interrupted his rally. As Trump criticized Democratic candidates, calling them “radical left, democrat communists,” the protestors shouted, said the outlet. It said the heckling began within minutes of Trump starting the roughly hour-long speech.
Trump was in Kansas to support U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.). Kansas might be a historically red state, but Marshall’s Democrat challenger Adam Hamilton is polling slightly ahead of the incumbent lawmaker, according to 270 to Win. Scoot out of Audacy station WWL in New Orleans noted in an op-ed this week that Hamilton is a pastor from the largest megachurch in the state.
“The fact that the Senate race between a Republican and a Democrat in the red state of Kansas is one of the shocking reminders that President Trump is hurting his own party,” said Scoot.
This week, Audacy’s On Deadline podcast interviewed KRLD 1080’s Austin bureau chief Chris Fox about a similar race in the Texas Senate. There, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a Republican, is facing a significant challenge from Democrat candidate James Talarico, an educator and Presbyterian seminarian.
In response to the hecklers, Trump made a joke about the protestors getting slapped by their parents and indicated that he thought they were actually paid protestors.
“Now he goes home to mom and dad. They slap him around, they say I voted for that man… they voted for me.” said Trump to a roar from his supporters in the crowd. “And you know, they’re paid. They’re paid protestors.”
The Independent reported that Trump used the same line when protestors interrupted his speeches in Texas, Ohio and Alaska this month.
Trump got in another dig at the protestors during the Kansas rally: “Whatever you do, get out and vote so we can get rid of idiots like that,” he said. The president also said that young people are paid $250 to cause a disturbance at his rallies.

He also mentioned that polls show that a significant percentage of Americans are critical of how Trump is handling his second term amid inflation, foreign wars and other issues.
Reuters/Ipsos poll results reported Monday showed that Trump’s approval rating had hit a record low of 31%. Polling aggregates from the Silver Bulletin also showed Trump hitting an all-time low over the weekend and The Economist showed him 0.2 points down since last week as of Tuesday.
