The Trump International Hotel in Washington D.C. is raising its room rates on March 4, just as QAnon supporters descend on the city for the day they believe former President Trump will be sworn in, according to Business Insider.
QAnon’s most loyal followers believe that on March 4, Trump will be inaugurated.
So, just in time for their arrival, Trump’s hotel rates and rooms at some other hotels close to the White House have nearly tripled their rates on March 3 and 4.
QAnon conspiracies are rooted in the “sovereign citizen” movement, according to Forbes -- based on a that a law enacted in 1871 that secretly turned the U.S. into a corporation and ended the American government put in place by the founding fathers. Making March 4, the date on which presidents were sworn in prior to the 1933 passage of the 20th amendment, and Ulysses S. Grant was the last legitimate president.
Forbes reports that the average price of a deluxe-king room usually runs around $476 to $596 around March, the price for March 3 and 4 this year was $1,331 per night, Forbes reported. Additionally, on January 6, the day a mob of insurrectionists stormed the U.S. Capitol, Trump International raised its rates substantially, with the cheapest room being about $8,000.
