PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation is giving out 500 backpacks filled with school supplies to student in Allegheny and Somerset Counties who don’t have the proper educational resources at home.
The backpacks include a notebook, folder, construction paper, pencils, a pencil sharpener, crayons, markets, a pencil case, scissors, a rule and a glue stick.
- 200 backpacks each to the Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Allegheny and Somerset Counties, which will distribute them to local families in need.
- 100 backpacks to ACH Clear Pathways, a Hill District organization that supports under-served families through after-school programs.
“We are all aware that students do not always have educational resources available at home while schools are closed, and this is one way we can continue to assist our community during this challenging time,” said Jim Britt, executive director of the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation.
