California’s fast food council is expected to start addressing workplace standards in March after there was a minimum wage increase that excluded bread-making businesses.

The council will create and monitor policies around fast food issues like wages, working conditions, and training. Four out of the nine council members are from the L.A. area.
The minimum wage was recently increased to $20 an hour for fast food workers except Panera Bread because the law exempts restaurants that list bread as a stand-alone menu item.
The council must get started by March 15.
