SAN FRANCISCO (KNX) — Police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to kidnap a 2-year-old earlier this week in Oakland.
The Oakland Police Department on Thursday said an unidentified man attempted to kidnap the toddler multiple times at the International Boulevard and High Street AC Transit station on Tuesday afternoon.

The child's family told police that he "proceeded to physically assault the toddler's mother until a good Samaritan" intervened.
Police said the man, pictured in the tweet below, then fled the scene.
The man, who was wearing a blue hat, red and blue shirt and black pants at the time of the alleged attempted kidnapping, is 5-foot-10 and 280 pounds. Police said he was described as a Hispanic man, between 40 and 50 years old.
Police didn't say whether the toddler's mother sustained any injuries, nor did they say if the toddler's family recognized the alleged attempted kidnapper.
The Oakland Police Department's special victims unit – 510-238-3641 – and its tip line – 510-238-7950 – are seeking information from anyone who recognizes the man.
