SANTA ANA, Calif. (KNX) – Santa Ana Police are investigating a shooting that left a 19-year-old high school baseball player dead and a teammate injured Thursday night.
Just after 7:20 p.m., officers responded to 1400 S. Minnie Street for a reported shooting. A man was found unresponsive in his car with gunshot wounds to his upper torso. Another man was found at the scene with gunshot wounds to his upper torso as well.
Both of the men were taken to the hospital where one died and one was listed in stable condition, the department said.
The victim who died was identified as Robert Izelo, 19, of Tustin. The other victim was only identified as an 18-year old.
Descriptions regarding the suspects have not been revealed. Police did obtain surveillance footage that showed a person of interest in dark clothing crossing the street.
