Sheriff's deputies are used to responding to reports of trespassing or breaking and entering, but not like this.
A Santa Clara County Sheriff’s deputy had to use some quick thinking to safely capture an uninvited guest at a home in Los Altos Hills on Tuesday night.
The homeowner called the sheriff’s office for help after a wild fox made its way inside the house. Deputies were able to detain the fox in one of the bathrooms before the animal was released back to the wild, with no charges.
The sheriff’s office posted the fox's tub shot on its social media channels.
It is not clear how the fox was able to break in to the home but fellow law enforcement officers with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office posed an important investigative question: "We just wanna know, 'What did the fox say?’'
