The state's calling on residents to assist with the vaccine rollout.

And there are various ways to do so, from sharing vaccine facts with friends and family to helping out at a vaccination site.

"We need general support volunteers to do a variety of activities everything from check-in to observation to data entry to traffic control. It is really critical to help make sure the clinics can run efficiently," says Josh Fryday, who is the state's chief service officer. "Volunteers, who complete a four-hour shift at a site, are now classified and considered community health workers so, therefore, are eligible for a vaccine. Volunteers will be validated at the vaccine sites and it will be up to the sites to make sure they have enough supply to take care of the volunteers. It's really important that one, we are making sure our volunteers are safe and also it is important that volunteers are able to support clinics on an ongoing basis and they are hopefully able to go more than once."

It may be tough to find a volunteer shift right now but Fryday says many more will be opening up in the weeks to come as more clinics sign up.
