Tim Tebow's first season playing at the Triple-A level has not been kind to the 31-year-old quarterback-turned-outfielder.
The Mets' most famous minor league prospect is hitting just .156 with 53 strikeouts in 128 at-bats for the Syracuse Mets, and on Tuesday, it somehow got even worse.
With Syracuse leading 15-2 in the ninth inning, the Buffalo Bisons put in first baseman/outfielder Jordan Patterson to mop up on the mound. Tebow led off against the position player, and struck out looking at a fastball on the outside corner.
In fairness, it was an 88-mph fastball on the black. Tebow appeared frustrated that it was called a strike.
As Tebow's struggles continue, his chances of reaching the majors appear bleak.
