LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A 55-year-old woman was struck by a Metrolink train in Boyle Heights Friday evening and critically injured.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the 2500 block of East Olympic Boulevard, near the Los Angeles River, around 6:10 p.m. regarding a pedestrian being struck by a Metrolink train, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Paramedics took the woman to a hospital, Stewart said.
It's unclear what led to the pedestrian getting struck by the Metrolink train.
The Los Angeles Police Department was investigating the collision.
