American Airlines Further Extends Waiver for Flight Changes

“The change fee will be waived but customers may still owe any difference in ticket price when rebooking a trip,” American said in a news release.

The offer is good on any fare, even tickets that were booked using American's Advantage Awards.

Multiple airlines, including United and Delta, have also waived their charge fees for flight changes during the pandemic.

American Airlines is also strictly enforcing its mandatory face mask policy.

The Fort Worth-based carrier recently sent notices to about 25,000 workers notifying them that they could be furloughed.

The earliest that American can begin making cuts is October 1st. That's because it got billions of dollars in federal aid to keep employees on the payroll. That aid runs out on September 30th.
