FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - Fort Worth-based American Airlines is part of a special project to raise money for cancer research.
In partnering with Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) and country music superstar Tim McGraw, American will add the names of current cancer patients, cancer survivors and of those who have lost their battle with the disease on a plane that will begin flying this fall.
Anyone who donates $25 or more at aa.com/standup during the month of July can submit the name of a loved one for inclusion. The American Airbus A321 will feature a one-of-a-kind SU2C wrap featuring the names submitted, along with the names of airline team members whose lives have been touched by cancer.
American said 100% of the proceeds raised will go to support collaborative cancer research programs through SU2C.
Donors will be able to visit aa.com/standup again in late September to see the location of their submitted loved one's name before the plane goes on its maiden voyage.
