DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A Dallas County judge has signed an arrest warrant this afternoon for a Dallas city councilman accused of leaving the scene of an accident.

Earlier this month, Dallas City Councilman Kevin Felder was driving a Ford Fusion when an eyewitness says he hit a teen on a scooter on Malcolm X Boulevard in South Dallas. Felder is accused of simply driving away.

However Felder's lawyer Pete Schulte says no collision ever occurred, and that the teen had been swerving all over the road.

"Felder tried to get around him. At that point the councilman pulled over and then teen cam around to the driver side and threw the scooter on the ground. That's the argument the witness started to hear," Schulte says.

Police say the teen suffered minor injuries.

Earlier Felder's car had been towed as evidence while Felder was attending a city council meeting. Marks on his car are being examined along with the marks on the scooter involved in the accident.
