WHITNEY (KRLD) - Someone wrote a threat on a school bathroom wall in Central Texas.

Whitney ISD School Superintendent Gene Solis wrote on the school Facebook page that a message was written on a boy's bathroom wall at the high school. It read there would be a shooting at the school on Friday.

The superintendent says there will now be an extra police presence on campus.

Solis wrote, "We encourage you to send your child to school on Friday, so that the perpetrator of the message DOES NOT have control," he also posted. "Absence on Friday will be unexcused if held out because of the message. We understand if you choose to keep your child home. We ask that you understand our position on this absence being unexcused."
