DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - The Dallas sick leave ordinance takes effect today despite a lawsuit aimed at blocking it.
The ordinance mandates that companies doing business in Dallas provide paid sick leave.
Just this week, an Austin group filed a lawsuit calling the rule un-constitutional and seeking a temporary restraining order.
But a judge has not even been assigned to the case yet, so there is nothing to hinder Dallas from enforcing the ordinance.
