Starting Friday, DFW will be opening 15 new regional gates at the Terminal E satellite.
"Terminal E satellite is now ready for our employees and to receive our customers," says Jose Velez Rubio, the vice president of DFW hub operations at American Airlines-owned regional carrier Envoy Air. "It marks the expansion of our regional operations just in time for the summer peak travel season."
The new satellite terminal will allow the airline to add more than 100 flights a day.
"We'll have over 900 (total) flights a day," says Cedric Rockamore, American Airlines' Vice President at DFW. "We'll serve 104,000 customers a day."
The new satellite terminal will have its own Admirals Club, as well as several other amenities.
"We really are excited to announce that by the end of this month, we'll have several new concessions on the way, including perennial favorite fast food restaurant Whataburger," says Chad Makovsky, DFW's executive vice president of operations. "Everybody's excited about Whataburger coming to DFW."
