Former Texas Death Row Inmate Declared Actually Innocent

He was condemned in 2005 after a Harris County prosecutor withheld evidence that would have found him not guilty of gunning down Houston police officer Charles Clark in a botched robbery.

That evidence came out in 2015 and he was finally released. Special prosecutor John Raley says "we should never be afraid of the truth, of seeking truth and trying to find it and of bringing it to light. It does no justice to Officer Clark to convict the wrong man for his murder."


Two other men who were guilty, were also convicted.  Now that he's actually innocent, Brown can apply for $80,000 a year for every year he was imprisoned.
