FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - A crowd cheers as the City of Fort Worth unveils a marker commemorating Dr. King's 1959 visit to the city.
It's located on Main Street, directly across from General Worth Square, just north of the convention center. Civil rights activists Pastor Kyev Tatum says the original plan was for the monument to be unveiled last October 22nd, but due to inclement weather, they had to postpone it to coincide with the 90th anniversary of Dr. King's birth.
Fort Worth is the first city in the nation to place a marker in Dr. King's memory on Main Street.
