Funeral Plans Released For Fallen Grand Prairie Officer

GRAND PRAIRIE (1080 KRLD) - Family and friends will have a chance to say goodbye to Grand Prairie Police Officer A.J. Castaneda. Visitiation for him is set for tonight at the Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington.

His funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday at The Potter's House in Dallas.

Officer AJ Castaneda was hit and killed while running radar along the George Bush Turnpike on Friday. 

Officer Castaneda had been with the Grand Prairie PD for five years.  He was with the Tarrant County Sheriff's Department for six years before that.

The 38-year-old officer is remembered as an exemplary policeman, a great friend and wonderful father.

He leaves behind an 11 year old son.
