DALLAS (KRLD) - Today is World Elephant Day. Elephants are some of the largest and smartest animals in the world and eight of them call the Dallas Zoo home.

August 12, 2019 Four of those eight have been dubbed "Golden Girls" because they are all friends and hang out and play together every day.
Elephants have very healthy appetites, they eat about 200 pounds of vegetation a day and you can help feed them.
Anytime you're trimming your trees contact the zoo to arrange a donation of those trimmings to help feed the Dallas elephants.
