DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- Words can speak volumes, even when it comes to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

As the Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues open their second-round playoff series Thursday night, the St. Louis Public Library has issued a challenge to its counterparts in Dallas.

Dallas Library Director Jo Guidice said, "Basically, it's trash talkin'.  But, it's trash talkin' with book titles."

In response to the St. Louis challenge, Guidice and her staff fired back on Twitter with the photo of a six-book stack.  The titles include:  "So Cute It Hurts," "Baby Blues," "Don't Choke," "Seeing Stars," "This Side Jordan" and "The Stars Are Fire."

Thanks @STLpubLibrary - congrats to your @StLouisBlues also! And both we, and @DallasStars are definitely up to a faceoff. #ChallengeAccepted #GoStars #bookspinechallenge #NTLPlayoffs @VictorEGreen @DtownDallasInc @ReunionTower pic.twitter.com/HFICUHMfgi

Guidice said other cities have engaged in library challenges to hype sports rivalries.  Her staff is already working on more submissions.  They're also soliciting ideas from the public.  "We'd love to have people send us suggestions @dallaslibrary.  That would be great fun," Guidice said.

The Stars and Blues play Game 1 of their series at 8:30 Thursday night in St. Louis.  Game 2 will be played Saturday.  The series shifts to Dallas for Game 3 Monday night.
