DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Four days after a man was shot to death by Dallas Police in Oak Cliff and the identity has finally been released.

The shooting happened at Camp Wisdom and Lancaster about 10:00 p.m. Saturday. Dallas Police say a man waving a gun refused to put it down and even fire a shot, police fired back.

Now the Dallas County Medical Examiner's office has identified that man as 42-year old Jamal Muhammad of Dallas.

Police don't know why Muhammad acted as he did and the entire matter is still under investigation.

The two Dallas police officers involved are on administrative leave.

An official cause of death has not been released and authorities say they are running tests to see if Muhammad had anything in his system
