MANSFIELD (1080 KRLD) - A Mansfield ISD student is in hot water due to a blackface controversy.

Lake Ridge High school officials sent a letter home to parents after they were made aware of a video made by a female student.

The teen is seen in the video, covering her face in black paint and using a racial slur. She is also wearing a sweater with the phrase, "clickbait" on it.

The video was quickly shared on Twitter with thousands of views and comments.

In a statement, the Mansfield ISD says, "These behaviors do not reflect who we are or aspire to be in MISD and will not be tolerated." They also say they have notified Twitter and are working to have the video taken down."

The student will be disciplined according to the Student Code of Conduct.
