FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - Storms are all off to the east now, but earlier today we had a ton of rain that led to several high water calls in Fort Worth.

Most of the roads are back open. The Fort Worth Office of Emergency Management says this afternoon, the 1600 block of 35th Street in north Fort Worth, and a stretch of Old Granbury Road just west of the Chisholm Trail Parkway are still closed. The Fort Worth Fire Department was responding to a dozen high water calls at one time this morning. The calls were concentrated in the southern half of the city.

Police shut down Rosedale and the 35 W frontage road just south of downtown for more than an hour because of high water. One woman filling up at a gas station near the interchange says she had just come from JPS Hospital and several side streets were flooded, too.

Fort Worth emergency management had to shut down 12 roads during the worst of the flooding this morning.
