Major air carriers, including American and Southwest, are cutting back on food-and-beverage service during the Coronavirus crisis.

Last week, Southwest announced it would suspend beverage offerings but would continue to offer snacks  and water.

Now, even those items are out in an effort to minimize contact between passengers and the cabin crew.

For American flights of less than four-and-a-half hours, no meals or snacks will be served.

On longer flights, there will be no snacks but drinks and meals will be served in the main cabin as usual.
