ARLINGTON (1080 KRLD) - The Arlington City Council is going to ask the voters for a sales tax hike on the May 3rd ballot.
Last night's Arlington City Council vote was unanimous. The proposal would raise the city's sales tax rate from 8% to 8.25%.
Mayor Jeff Williams says the sales tax allows the city to collect from the city's many visitors whenever they spend money.
About half of the city's current sales tax revenues come from those who live outside the city.
